2015 AWCA Project of the Year, Suspended Ceilings

Calgary City Centre Office Tower, Calgary, Alberta

This project was completed over a two year period between 2013 – 2015. TDL’s work consisted of steel stud framing, gypsum board, and acoustic ceilings throughout the thirty story office complex. TDL was awarded the AWCA Project of the Year award for the Decoustics Mini Perf wall and ceiling work which is the main design feature for the lobby areas.

2014 AWCA Project of the Year, Suspended Ceilings (Acoustical)

Lobby Renovation, 444 – 5th Avenue, Calgary, Alberta

In 2014, TDL Drywall Inc. completed an extensive lobby renovation of this downtown Calgary office building. Work consisted of new exterior wall and soffit assemblies as well as interior partitions and bulkheads. The highlight of this project was the Armstrong Woodworks Lineal wall and ceiling systems that were installed by TDS’s experienced crew.

2005 NWCB Project of the Year, Interior Commercial

First Alliance Church | Calgary, Alberta

The beautiful new 121,000 square foot campus features numerous classrooms, offices, eating areas, a gymnasium, a commercial kitchen and an auditorium seating 2,500. This project required intricate and detailed construction of various combinations of metal stud and gypsum board systems, as well as a high degree of precision to form, erect and complete the many specialty double segmented front bulkheads, reveal-style detailing and soffits. The gypsum board alone was the equivalent of 8.5 NFL football fields or 28 NHL Hockey rinks and 30 miles of joint tape was used to construct this project.

2004 BPB International Trophy Contest, Best Use of Plasterboard (Gypsum Board)

Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Entry Redevelopment | Banff, Alberta

In 2004, the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel Entry Redevelopment Project was chosen to represent North America in the BPB International Trophy Contest. Sponsored by a gypsum manufacturer based in Britain, the contest accepts project submissions from throughout Europe and for the first time in 2004, they accepted a project submitted from North America.

Submissions are sorted into 3 categories: Best Use of Plaster, Best Use of Plasterboard, and Innovations in the Use of Plasterboard. In a field of 19 in its category, the Fairmont Banff Sprint Hotel Lobby Redevelopment Project placed third after Spain and Switzerland.

2002 NWCB Industry Person of the Year Award, Neal Pollock

TDL Drywall Inc.’s president, Neal Pollock was recognized for his contribution to the wall and ceiling industry and his entrepreneurial spirit. This is the highest compliment and honour from his peers at the NWCB.

2002 NWCB Project of the Year, Interior Commercial

Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Entry Redevelopment | Banff, Alberta

This historical and ornamental plaster restoration project required researching and recreating cornices, ornamental crests, shields and arches. Fairmont Hotels wanted the hotel restored to the original early 1900s architectural features. TDL also incorporated modern technology (steel studs and gypsum board) to create arches and beams which were then painted to simulate Tyndall stone.

2002 North American Gypsum Association - Project of the Year, Interior Commercial

Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Entry Redevelopment | Banff, Alberta

The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel Entrance Redevelopment Project went on to win this award for all of North America. Based in Washington, D.C., the North American Gypsum Association promotes the proper use and installation of gypsum products in North America.

1995 NWCB Project of the Year, Interior Commercial

A & B Sound | Calgary, Alberta

The restoration of the interior of the old Bank of Montreal building in downtown Calgary was a showpiece for the work of TDL’s ornamental plaster and restoration specialists. The project encompassed matching old technology to new during the process of restoring columns, cornices, and coving, to bring the interior back to its original grandeur.
